Happy Halloweekend!

Bates Rewards Halloween Savings: Come in Costume & Save 10% off your entire order*! Pumpkin hunt for the kiddos

It’s that spectacular time of the year — that’s right, Halloween is arriving this Saturday. We have a couple tricks and treats in store for you, should you dare to enter our haunted greenhouse. Ghoulish gardeners who feel so moved by the spirits to don a costume will be rewarded for their bravery with 10% off your entire order on Halloween. Kids or pets in costume count as well. We’ll be dressing up too, so don’t fret about being the only one.

There’s a fun activity for the youngins too. This Saturday, the greenhouse is hosting a pumpkin hunt from 10 am to 2 pm where two painted pumpkins will be hidden around the nursery (excluding houseplants and the tree lot). The hunt resets every hour, so there will be plenty of opportunity for fun! If your child finds one, instruct them to bring it to an employee in the annual greenhouse to receive a prize -- ranging from a small carnivorous plant to a garden kit! We ask for everyone’s safety that children stay with their parents, don’t run, be kind, and have fun. Parents, resist the urge to help your kids; they’ll have more fun that way!

If you’re in the mood for some ghostly gardening this weekend, we have ample fall color like pansies and Jack-o’-lantern mums, enchanting Halloween decor, and even costumes for your porch goose! Even the mini geese can dress up as a witch or a bumble bee. Our remaining pumpkin inventory is also half off while supplies last. It’s not too late to spookily spruce up your doorway. Grab a vampire luminary or some scary glowing skeleton hands to finish your decorations.

That’s it for this week, boys and ghouls. Tune in Saturdays at 8 am for Gardening Inside Out. Queue up the podcast for your next adventure, and catch Garden Snacks with Caroline. Follow our Instagram for behind the scenes fun and inspiration. We look forward to seeing you soon!

Happy Gardening,
