Enamored with Autumn

Crisp nights, cool mornings — I believe we are in the best weather of the year. The weather that comes with layers and a midday costume change. The 80s are almost out of here, the leaves are starting to change, and we are fully stocked to make your autumnal ideals a reality. We received a shipment of gorgeous conifers and Japanese maples from Iseli this week with something to entice every gardener.

Since 1998, our EarthMix® brand has been ever growing and improving. What started as one product has grown into a bounty of offerings for your lawn & garden. We would love to know how you feel about them! Your feedback is incredibly valuable, and we’d be delighted if you’d share it with us to better inform the next chapter of our growth.
Our #2 Dwarf Alberta Spruce sale continues in store, buy one at $59.99 and get another FREE! These are only sold in pairs, so if you need a single shrub, grab a second and give it as a host gift this spooky season. Speaking of holiday shrubs, I’d like to take the opportunity to shout out some of my favorite haunting plants. At the top of the list is Contorted Filbert, a gnarly beauty that will make you joyous when a branch dies. Their contorted branches are prized Halloween decor. My dear mama Renee shared her admiration of this beastly bush with me when I was a young sprout, and I have loved it ever since! Shadier acres may enjoy a Ghost Painted Japanese Fern or even a Ghost Euphorbia standing guard indoors. We can’t forget the cute ceramic Ghost Mushrooms! There’s many a frightening folly to be had at Bates. Some would say it’s in the name…
That’s it for this week, my friends. Thank you for sharing your thoughts with us! As always, you can catch the Gardening Inside Out gang Saturday mornings at 8am or after hours on the podcast. Give us a follow on Facebook and Instagram to catch the Know Down. Drop us an email or give us a call — we are always glad to hear from you!
Happy Gardening,
Sara Bates
