2 gal. Dwarf Alberta Spruce buy one get one free*!

Sixteen years feels like a long time, and that’s because it is. We have had the immense fortune of being voted Best of Nashville for sixteen consecutive years by you, our friends and community. It is a great honor to be your trusted garden experts, and we are so grateful to foster your foliar fantasies. From the bottom of our hearts, thank you!

This week has brought about a phenomenal change in weather. After weeks of mid-80s, those cool autumnal breezes have arrived to help you tuck away the daffodil, hyacinth, and allium bulbs. Now is the time to remove your summer plantings before the increasingly colder temps turn them to a slimy mess. Coincidentally, we are at peak pansy season! You need to nab them soon if you want your choice of color: everything from goth black to two toned and trailing. Our tables are overflowing with all varieties of fall color — the only limit is your imagination.

Now imagine a stellar container planting for your doorway or balcony: a lovely little spruce, happy violas, and trailing creeping jenny. Container plantings are a wonderful highlight of the season. From stunning grasses to edible brassicas or classic evergreens, containers add color and life to the season’s palette. If you prefer your plantings in pairs, you’re in luck — our 2 gallon Dwarf Alberta Spruces are buy one get one free while supplies last. Only need one? Give the second one to a friend and share the love. They look particularly sweet when decorated with ornaments in a couple months.

That’s it for this week, friends. To stay in the loop on the happenings around the lot, give us a follow on Instagram to get the Know Down. Tune in Saturday mornings at 8am (or anytime after) for Gardening Inside Out, or catch the podcast in your own time. Give a ring or drop a line, we're always happy to help.

Happy Gardening,

Sara Bates
